ATCO GT 38H Twin Ride-On Lawn Mower
The GT 38H steps up from the GT 30H in two meaningful ways — a wider 98cm cutting deck and a twin-cylinder engine — and both make a noticeable difference on larger gardens. The 586cc Stiga ST 550 twin-cylinder unit runs more smoothly and quietly than a single-cylinder engine of equivalent power, and the extra torque it produces handles thicker, denser grass without the cutting speed dropping off.
At 98cm the cutting width covers ground noticeably faster than the GT 30H, making it the more practical choice for lawns where productivity matters as much as manoeuvrability. The deck is also more versatile — as well as collecting, it can mulch clippings back into the lawn or rear-discharge, giving the operator options depending on conditions and preference.
The hydrostatic transmission keeps the driving experience as relaxed as the GT 30H — foot-pedal speed control with no gear changes, smooth and intuitive on slopes and around obstacles. Blade engagement is electromagnetic, and the hosepipe fixture point makes deck cleaning straightforward after use. The 240-litre collector can be emptied without leaving the seat, which is a genuinely useful feature on a larger lawn where you'd otherwise be climbing on and off repeatedly.
