ECHO CS-621SX 18" Professional Petrol Chainsaw
The CS-621SX is what happens when ECHO take an already excellent saw and make it cleaner without watering anything down. It's the low-emissions successor to the much-loved CS-620SX, and rather than just slapping a green sticker on the box, they've actually engineered it properly — the 59.8cc Japanese-built engine produces noticeably fewer emissions while delivering the same punch that made the 620 such a firm favourite with professionals.
At 3.2kW and 4.4ps, this is a serious bit of kit. The 18" bar might seem modest for an engine of this size, but that's actually part of the appeal — you get tremendous reserves of power for a bar that's easy to handle, making it fast, precise and remarkably controllable in the right hands. Built and tested in Japan to the sort of standards that would make a Swiss watchmaker nod approvingly, this is a saw you buy once and keep for years.
At just over £939, it's an investment — but for anyone who uses a chainsaw professionally day in day out, it's the kind of tool that pays for itself pretty quickly.
