ECHO Arrives at Garden Machinery (Glos) Ltd
As a new endeavour, Garden Machinery (Glos) Ltd is excited to be stocking ECHO products for the first time in many years. Although it is not a name that is as widely known as some competitors in the UK, ECHO has spent decades building a reputation for making machines that are reliable, lightweight and built to last.
ECHO's focus on handheld power equipment only means they specialise deeply - ensuring they have a range of products that you can depend on.

Why ECHO?
Japanese Manufacture
Founded in Japan in 1947 as Kyoritsu Noki Co., Ltd., ECHO is now recognised as a leading name in the garden machinery industry. Although they begun with a focus on agricultural solutions, they later became known for their innovations such as the first manual duster and the first commercial backpack leaf blower. They have been gradually improving the quality and durability of their products to what they are today.
Japan is well renowned globally for its technological craftsmanship and high manufacturing standards, and ECHO is no exception. All machines are manufactured with consistent quality control and tight tolerances, ensuring each machine is of the same high quality. Even for homeowner’s tools, engines undergo 50+ days of testing at varied RPM cycles to ensure stability before release. All ECHO engines, and many full machines continue to be fully built in Japan, maintaining the practices and standards they have built on over many years.
ES-Start System
Many ECHO machines feature the “ES-Start” System, which is a spring-assisted system that reduces the amount of force needed to pull the starter cord by up to 50% compared to a standard recoil starter, reducing strain and preventing kick-back.
The ES-start system can be found on all non-hedge cutter machinery in our stock for 2026.
Ergonomic Design
All ECHO machines are designed with user comfort as a priority. Each machine is:
Lightweight, without sacrificing strength
Neutral in balance, with centred engine mass
Shaped for comfort, especially during longer use
And many machines also offer additional features such as the ES-start system and anti-vibration buffers. This results in machinery that is easy to handle, reduces fatigue, and feels well-balanced, even during demanding jobs.
Built to Last
ECHO's philosophy emphasises durability, ease of use, and simplicity. Instead of chasing maximum horsepower in each and every machine, they instead prioritize:
Simple, Low-Stress engines
Cool Running
Reliable Ignition systems
Long piston and cylinder life
Thick Chrome Plating and forged components
Simple, fixable designs, ensuring fewer fail points
Machines that are designed to be maintained, not thrown away
Many ECHO models also include features that enhance performance and user comfort, such as:
Heavy-duty and multi-layer air filters
Anti-vibration systems
High-quality bearings
"Speed feed" heads, (e.g., SRM-237TES/L) that reload line in seconds.
What ECHO may lack in flashy specifications, they more than make up for in consistent, long-term reliability.
Easy Maintenance
ECHO machines are designed with maintenance at the front, this is achieved through fewer, more accessible components, durable materials and tool-free access to many components such as air filters, spark plugs and fuel filters.
They often make design choices that make the machine easier to maintain such as clear fuel tanks and easy access air filters. Parts availability is also excellent, and many parts are interchangeable across models, meaning that you aren’t likely to come across the problem of having a faulty machine due to being unable to find a specific part.
A tool that is easy to maintain is a machine that gets maintained.
100% Professional Grade
ECHO takes product testing extremely seriously. Each product is thoroughly tested for months to ensure it meets demanding criteria. For ECHO, there is no such thing as “good enough” — only products that consistently meet and exceed demanding professional standards make it to market.
5 Year Domestic and 2 Year Professional Warranty on All Machines
As a statement to ECHO’s confidence in the quality and performance of their products, all ECHO machines come with a 5 year domestic and 2 year professional warranty – with the exception of battery powered tools which come with a 3 year domestic and 2 year battery warranty.
